Tim Powell


Tim Powell is a Partner with Think. He is responsible for leading market research and consulting programs for firms and trade associations in the food and beverage industries.


Tim has more than 20 years of successful consulting, research and sales experience across a variety of industries. Prior to Think, he held a VP of Strategy role with retail design firm Big Red Rooster. He spent more than a decade with leading management consulting firm Technomic and prior to this, managed the Midwest marketing efforts for the Forensic and Litigation practice of the global tax and accounting firm KPMG LLP. He also has experience with IBM Global Services.

 

He is a regular contributor to Convenience Store News and he has been cited in NACS Magazine, CSP, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Columbus Dispatch, Advertising Age, Reuters as well as other local publications.  Tim has presented at a variety of industry events, including the AWMA annual sales meeting, CSP’s Foodservice at Retail (FARE), NACS and IFMA’s annual Forecast and Outlook. He is also a regular speaker for industry-related engagements.


Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at The Ohio State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree at the University of Illinois. He also spent eight months at Leeds Business School in Leeds, England studying and practicing International and European Management and completed graduate level social science courses at the University of Chicago.

Julie (Guy) Powell

Julie is a communications professional with progressive experience in executive, associate, client, business and consumer communications in the financial services, healthcare and educational program production industries. She excels in gaining an understanding of the "big picture" to develop and execute thoughtful plans that align with overarching company goals and satisfy customer needs. 

Julie's experience has spanned communications senior leadership roles with Huntington National Bank. Nationwide Insurance, JP Morgan Chase and The Ohio State University. 

Julie earned her Bachelors of Art at Denison University, where she was a captain of the varsity women's tennis team. Julie also studied in Avignon, France as part of her undergradute requirements.


Think Research and Consulting Staff


Think also retains consultants that handle a variety of tasks, including field work, tabs analysis, survey programming, IDIs, shop-alongs and business-to-business executive interviews. In addition, Think consultants may have certain specialties (such as restaurant operations or retail merchandising) that will be part of a client's engagement team to ensure project objectives are well understood and tasks are executed on time and on budget with measurable results. Think's consultants span a variety of backgrounds and industries, including anthropology, digital media, foodservice distribution and change management.
